Carlito returned home in style. WWE fighter surprised fans in WWC Summer Madnessheld on May 31 at the Pepín Cestero Arena de Bayamón, defeating Ray González and becoming the new WWC Puerto Rico Champion. It was his first appearance in his family's company since June 2023.
Carlito's return to World Wrestling Council was given Thanks to a special agreement between WWE and the Puerto Rican promoter, directly authorized by Adam Pearce. The appearance was announced weeks ago as a unique fight, framed in what the company itself described as “Pending issues”. For Carlito, this is his second ostentation.
Carlito has a deep connection with WWC, not only as one of his most emblematic figures, but for being the son of the legendary Carlos Colónfounder of the company and member of the WWE Hall of Fame. It was in WWC that Carlito debuted as a professional fighter in 1999, and where he quickly consolidated himself as a star, winning multiple championships, including El Universal.
Throughout his career, even in periods outside WWE, Carlito has returned promptly to WWC to fight in special events, especially anniversaries or tributes. His victory against Ray González revives one of the historical rivalries of Puerto Rican Wrestling and adds a new chapter to his legacy on the island.
Currently, Carlito is part of the Judgment Day in Monday Night Rawwhere he has adopted a more relaxed role within the group. His participation in WWC, although for a single night, shows that his link with Puerto Rico and local wrestling is still stronger than ever. It is rumored that this victory has to do beyond an agreement of one night with WWE, but no American media has been able to confirm it.
