Teikyo Nagaoka, who was third in the national championship last year and is aiming for a fourth consecutive victory in the prefectural championship, was suspended for over 40 minutes due to bad weather, but he crushed Kaishi International 5-0 with midfielder Yoshiwara Takuya (3rd year, Nagaoka JYFC) scored two goals. Niigata Meikun defeated Hokuetsu 1-0, and advanced to the finals for the first time in three tournaments. In the 31st minute of the second half, forward Tashiro Rensho (Nagaoka JYFC), who was the second-year student and wearing the number 10 jersey, brilliantly scored the winning goal. The final on June 1st (changed from 1:30pm to start at 2pm) will be held at Isokono Park Athletics Stadium.
Yoshiwara, who started full-time left midfielder, went wild with two goals. First, in the 18th minute of the first half, with a 1-0 breakthrough, he slashed through the left side and scored his first goal with his left foot. In the 25th minute of the second half, with the score at 4-0, the team was suspended for 43 minutes due to lightning, but in the 27th minute of the same year, just after the restart, they scored a second goal with a right cross directly on their right foot. “We had a long break and were about to lose concentration, but we called out to each other. It was a rare experience,” he recalled.
He is a native of Nagaoka JYFC, the school's subordinate organization. Even when surrounded by a small area, he didn't panic and used a different pass and dribbling that pushed the opponent against each other, leading the attack. He has one win left until his fourth consecutive victory. “We lost (to Niigata Meikun) in the semi-finals (last fall) at the championships. We'll also pay back the debts of our seniors. We want to all go strong from the start of the match.” He didn't let his guard down even if he wins big.[Kobayashi Tadashi]
○…Left defender Rivkin Tsuji Aaron (3rd year, Gamba Osaka) made a difference with his attack. He delivered vertical passes that run through Yoshiwara, one row ahead of him when he holds the ball, and a diagonal feed to the feet of midfielder Hiramatsu Nagau (2nd year, Jeffer FC). “There were a lot of mistakes, but I was able to show off some of the characteristics,” he said with a smile. In preparation for the final, he was enthusiastic, saying, “I definitely want to win the championship for four consecutive years, so I can participate in the national team.”
