«That was very difficult for me because when I arrived, I was excited to have a character. ' There is a separation on television, where you are yourself, that feels too personal. If my name is Kacy on television and people say, 'Kacy stinks', it's like, 'oh no, they're talking about me', but I'm this character, 'Fulana stinks'. Well, that is not me. It is this kind of alter ego. So she was excited to arrive and have a character, but it was not. They told me: 'You have a name, we want you to keep your name'.
Now, I loved having my name, but at first I thought, 'I wanted a great name'. Then I got used to having my name so much, three years had passed, maybe more. They talked about changing my name and I thought, 'Go, I've already had this name'. It was hard for me to accept it, but I remembered what I thought at the beginning, that I could have this alter ego character, and that I could separate the work of my personal life, and that would be healthier for me.
Thinking about the names, luckily, they helped me a lot and they let me think a lot. It was difficult because they told me: 'As you have already had this important name and you have been yourself for so long, it cannot be a normal name.' It had to be something that remained connected to me, even if it wasn't exactly me. I really wanted to keep my initials, so, at least, if I had to put 'kc' in something, it could still be me. When I was looking for names that started with K and Katana appeared, I thought: 'That sounds a bit ninja.' I didn't find him by Mortal Kombat, but when I did, people said, 'Ah, as in Mortal Kombat'. I literally looked for babies names and finally found Katana.
With chance, the same: I didn't want it to be a common name, I wanted me to start with C, and I also wanted something that could eventually use in a sentence or to create something. With Chance, I felt that it would be great if, one of my ideas, was to do something type program of interviews with 'Here's your chance' ('here is your chance'), where people could come and say what they wanted or complain. Even for products, such as 'Take Your Chance' ('Take your opportunity'). I thought Chance was great and that I could use it in several ways. Some people seemed good, others not so much. I felt it was fun, but I'm happy to have my name back.»
