On May 29th, LEGO Japan Inc. announced that LEGO Group and Nike had signed a multi-year global partnership. The partnership aims to bring children the joy of play and sports by combining the creativity of LEGO® blocks with Nike's “Just Do It” spirit.

The two companies plan to develop brand experiences that utilize the power of play around the world through offering experiential activities and developing joint products. The first LEGO® block product, “LEGO® Nike Dunk,” was released on July 1st, and advance pre-orders began on May 29th.

This product consists of 1180 pieces and is intended for those over 10 years old. Based on Nike's popular sneaker, the Nike Dunk sneaker features basketball and the “Dunk” logo, and LEGO® blocks. Once assembled, it can be used as a display, and there is a pull-out storage space inside, allowing you to store small items and championship rings. It also comes with replacement shoelaces for customization and a mini figure “B'Ball Head” that imitates a basketball game.

Nike is also planning to release a collaboration product, with the release of the Nike Air Max Dn x LEGO® Collection on August 1st, and the release of the Nike Dunk Low x LEGO® Collection on September 1st. Both are playful items that incorporate the iconic LEGO® designs and combine them with Nike's sports culture.

WNBA superstar Aja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) also participated in the partnership. As a brand ambassador, I will propose creative play to children through digital experiences and campaigns.

LEGO and Nike will also be taking part in conjunction with the International Play Day on June 11th, providing opportunities for creativity and physical activity to children around the world.
