► Tommy Dreamer remembers Sabu

Now we attend to what he said Tommy Dreamer while talking to Rob van Dam in this podcast, 1 Of A Kind:

“Honestly, seeing that, I just thought: 'God, Sabu was …' I mean, It was a God. So innovative, and one forgets how many movements created. And not only to repeat them, but things like simply make a springboard while the opponent is sitting and a 'leg lariat' (kick with the leg). So unique and different, one forgets it. And I have been telling everyone – we commented on Busted Open, I did something in the podcast of Jericho – and I didn't want to talk about the subject until you wrote me. So it was like: 'Of course, for you.'

“But people do not understand how the business was basically off. And then this guy called Sabu appeared. And beyond the tables, their offensive and the way they moved – it was poetry in motion, but with violence. And it was simply unique.

“And as I said, there are very few people who change the rules of the game in the industry, and he was one of those. The 90s were different by Sabu. Really. I was seeing all those clips and remembered: the first time I saw someone jump from the second rope to make a frog while the other was sitting in the corner … it was Sabu. And I thought: 'Holy sky!' One forgets so many things, you know?
