The legendary wrestling commentator, Jim Ross, will undergo today Tuesday, May 27, to colon cancer surgeryafter its diagnosis at the beginning of the month. The WWE Hall of Fame, revealed in his podcast “Grilling JR” that doctors detected cancer in two parts and They hope that it will remain hospitalized approximately six days after the “less invasive” procedure.

JR, 73, known for his iconic comments during the Attitude was WWE and his current work at All Elite Wrestling, Optimism said despite recognizing the stress of his situation, through his official X account. “They recorded me for surgery. Time to beat up to cancer … and let him go.”

The wrestling community has joined around Ross, with a remarkable support from the executive director of AEW, Tony Khan, and the member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Steve Austin. Ross said that this support has made him feel “strong and vibrant” before the procedure. Despite its latest health problems, Ross emphasized that he has no plans to retire. He intends to continue his work with AEW after his recoveryalthough he plans to reduce his agenda and focus on selected appearances and events.

Ross previously exceeded skin cancer in 2021 and underwent hip surgery in February 2024. The commentator expressed his hope of attending AEW All In: Texas at the end of this summer while his recovery trip continues. Something that would be a magnificent news.
