There appears to be a possibility that Napoli manager Antonio Conte will suddenly resign. On the 25th, several Italian media outlets reported this, including Sky Sports and Gazzetta delo Sport.

Napoli invited Coach Conte last summer to aim to “rescue the hegemony.” He steadily accumulated points from the beginning, and overcame the difficulties of Georgia national team forward Kwvicha Kvaratzhelia (now Paris Saint-Germain) transferring mid-season and not winning five games since the beginning of February, and ended up finishing the league with 82 points, with 24 wins, 10 draws, and 4 losses. He won a dead heat with Inter, which was aiming for a consecutive victory, and won a Scudetto for the first time in two seasons.

Coach Conte has been his third club after Juventus and Inter, making his third club to win Serie A, but at this point it seems unclear whether he's going ahead or not. The current contract is until the end of June 2027, but Naples Chairman Aurelio de Laurentiz has made a meaningful statement, “Each manager has his own personality and that should be respected. In my opinion, even if there is an iron contract, it should never be forced.”

According to reports, coach Conte and club executives, including Chairman De Laurentis, are expected to hold meetings soon and make decisions regarding advancement and resignation. Although the two have a good relationship, Sky Sports points out that they are “close to break up” due to multiple circumstances, including economic and market conditions. Napoli is also preparing for his resignation of command, and it appears that Massimiliano Allegri, who once led Milan and Juventus, has emerged as a leading candidate for successor.

After the 2022-23 season, when Napoli acquired Scudetto for the first time in 33 years, manager Luciano Spalletti (now Italian national team) retired after the contract expired. Although the contract status is different, will the manager who led him to win the Serie A again be leaving the team? Attention will be focused on future trends.
