The 105th Emperor's Cup All Japan soccer championship began on the 24th, with 10 first-round matches being held at K's Denki Stadium Mito and other locations, and amateur seed Toyo University defeated Sendai University (Miyagi) 4-2 to advance to the second round. Veros Cronos Tono (Miyazaki) defeated J3 Tottori (Tottori) 2-1. In addition to J3 members Sagamihara (Kanagawa) and Kochi (Kochi), Brew SAGA (Saga) and Kyoto Sangyo University (Kyoto) also won.
A total of 88 teams participated in the tournament. With the exception of Urawa, who will be appearing in the fourth round due to the Club World Cup (World Cup), J1 players will appear in the second round on June 11th and 18th. The final will be held at the National Stadium in Tokyo on November 22nd.
