Georgia national team goalkeeper Giorgi Mamaldashvili, who plays for Valencia, has expressed his intention to play for Liverpool in the new season. On the 22nd, local media Liverpool Echo reported the player's comments.

Mamaldashvili, now 24 years old, has decided to transfer from Valencia to Liverpool in the transfer market last summer. He remains at Valencia this season as a loan transfer. Although the future will be unclear after the 2025-26 season, it is expected that Mamaldashvili will join Liverpool and Ireland's second goalkeeper Quiebeen Kelleher will be leaving.

Liverpool has Brazilian national team goalkeeper Allison, who is his absolute guardian, but Mamaldashvili believes that Liverpool's environment will help him improve his level, saying the following:

“I want to take the challenge and prove myself. The important thing is patience, training, and effort. If I continue doing that, the results will naturally follow. Training with Alison will also help me grow, and I think I will gain a lot of experience with him.”

When asked about the possibility of transferring on loan next season, he stated that he was “not thinking about that,” and clearly stated his intention to remain with Liverpool. He also revealed that he is currently in contact with the goalkeeper coach, saying, “They came all the way from Liverpool and talked to me. I can sense the attention they have come from.”

Mamaldashvili also thanked Valencia goalkeeper coach Jose Manuel Ochotrana for raising him.

“If it wasn't for someone called Ochotrana, I wouldn't have been able to play not only at this level, but at Valencia. I would have been able to fail in games and in times of hardship, so I would have been there to support me.”
