Any underperformance from the other No.10s in the squad will surely be on that list of factors that could work in Gibbs-White’s favour, too, such is his form, and Palmer must step up in the final weeks of the season to make sure he isn’t the fall guy.
For what it’s worth, it’s clear Tuchel has been working to foster a strong working relationship with the Chelsea talisman, in an attempt to get the best out of a potentially key player with the World Cup fast approaching.
